About Us

Welcome to our home, we’re so glad you’re here. At 和 (Wa) House, we believe that truly good matcha starts with good people, the families who dedicate their lives to growing it, and the communities who choose to share it.

We are an independently owned tea company with a deep passion for ceremonial-grade matcha and the culture behind it. Our matcha is not just a drink — it’s a daily ritual, a moment of calm, and a connection to centuries of tradition.

Why “和 (Wa)”?

The kanji (Wa) carries many meanings — harmony, peace, and Japan itself. It reflects the spirit of balance and respect that lies at the heart of our brand: between people and nature, past and present, and body and mind. By using , we honor not only the origin of our tea, but the timeless values that make matcha so meaningful to us.

Grown with Integrity

We proudly partner with Japanese, family-run farms that have been cultivating JAS-certified organic tencha for generations. These small producers use sustainable and regenerative farming methods, working in harmony with nature and never relying on pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic fertilizers. Their approach nurtures healthier, hardier tea plants — meaning more nutrients in every cup, and a deeper respect for the land.

Crafted with Care

We source both organic and conventional matcha, including single-cultivar and blended varieties, from renowned tea-growing regions across Japan. From the misty hills of Kagoshima to the storied tea fields of Uji, we work only with those who share our commitment to craftsmanship, transparency, and taste.

Our Mission

Our goal is to bring you a better cup of matcha, one that honors the people, places, and traditions behind it. Whether you’re whisking your first bowl or returning for your daily ritual, we hope to offer you matcha that nourishes both body and spirit.

This is matcha made with heart.
